A.
JOB
Summary:
The Nutritional Aide will implement the requirements as outlined in the Performance Standards 1302.
44 Child Nutrition and USDA 7CFR parts 210,220 and 226, under the supervision of the Nutrition Coordinator in conjunction with the Health & Mental Health Manager.
The Nutritional Aide work performance will be evaluated within 180 days of securing the position and annually thereafter.
The Nutritional Aide will report to their supervisor any difficulties prior to it becoming an issue.
Maintenance of clear and concise recordkeeping is a mandate and the responsibility of all staff.
SPECIFIC DUTIES/
Essential Functions:
1.
Ensure compliance with Head Start Performance Standards and CACFP regulations.
2.
Complete PIC (person-in-charge) food protection class within year of hire date.
3.
Follow appropriate food handling practices per the Ohio Food Code.
4.
Provide meals to comply with CACFP regulations with family style service as appropriate.
5.
Calibrate food thermometers bi-weekly and record on the proper log.
6.
Maintain proper temperatures of the food and/or beverages throughout the meal service and record on food temperature log.
7.
Document all substitutions to the menu on meal substitution log.
8.
Coordinate with Site Supervisor to deliver meals into the classroom in a timely manner.
9.
Follow appropriate dishwashing procedures.
10.
Conduct a weekly focused inventory and turn into Nutritional Coordinator.
11.
Put new inventory away as delivered following FIFO method.
12.
Delivery of products, milk and prepared foods to other centers as needed.
13.
Maintain the cleanliness of the kitchen and food storage areas on a daily basis refer to kitchen cleaning checklist.
14.
Turn in completed kitchen documents into the Site supervisor monthly to meet CACFP regulations.
15.
Conduct self in a professional manner at all times.
16.
Dress appropriately for work within the kitchen and work related functions as well as maintaining good personal hygiene.
17.
Must not seek to cause harm to fellow employees, the program, or the agency.
18.
Complete CACFP Daily Time Log as needed.
19.
Additional duties as assigned.

REQUIRED JOB
Qualifications:
1.
Must have a high school diploma and/or GED 2.
Valid driver's license /reliable transportation/ automobile insurance coverage.
3.
Good written and oral communication skills.
4.
Good computer skills.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
1.
Must have the ability to lift up to 50 pounds and stand on your feet for an extended period of time.
2.
Must have the ability to work in a fast-paced and often high stress environment as well as the ability to adapt quickly to changes.
3.
Must have the ability to deal with inside and outside clientele and venders in a diplomatic and courteous manner while assuring adherence to CAA policies and procedures.
4.
Various noises and behaviors associated with the care of 3-5 year old children.

WORKING CONDITIONS:
1.
Exposure to cleaning chemicals such as dish detergent, window cleaner and other chemicals as such Delimer.
2.
Various noises associated with a kitchen and classroom.
3.
Higher than normal temperatures as associated with the oven and sanitizer.
